Vines are used to decorate the garden as they can be maintained easily and look attractive on anything. A garden looks lovely with a fence or anything that separates the green garden of your house and spreading a vine over it is easy and looks artistic and charming too. There are many varieties of vines which can be grown on the side of the house, along the ground or on a tree.
Ground vines are of many kinds which grow quickly and are strong and make their way spreading on the ground, they can be guided well to create a border along the garden or can be woven on the plants. They can also be used as a green covering for the ground which has the resistance to survive even if stepped on to it, and a best alternative to the green grass and can withstand even with kids or a pet dog.
The twining vine is another type which is named after its way of climbing and these vines need some framework or holey surface to climb as they do not stick to the wall and just curl to anything around them by giving out small tendrils. This can be used to climb trees or any kind of mesh and should be cared most during the initial stage and they will wander anywhere after that.
Vines can be fused according the architecture of the house by the tiny tendrils which has glued ends to stick to any surface, besides looking good on the ground and on frameworks. When you want to cover any wall that does not look good and is near the garden it is the best idea to start spreading some vines from the base. The Virginia Creeper will cover the whole wall within few months. But there are instances when the vines spread beyond limit and get out of control engulfing the whole house.
The most common and adaptable vine is the Ivy and can fill almost every area (the ground, twining and sticky pads). It is not a good idea to grow them on your house as it dilapidates the building by growing fast and strong.
So a vine can be allowed to grow but taking care and conducting research if it is going to cause any harm ( like destroying a building by spreading) or so.
