Nowadays, organic gardening is a very important part of horticulture where the crops and plants that come out of it are safe and does not contain any harmful chemicals.
However, organic gardening is not new because until the mid 1880s there was no usage of chemical insecticides, pesticides, or fertilizers. Now, we realize that it is important to use natural supplements to grow our garden so that we become one with nature and get produce that are environmentally safe.
In order to recognize what organic gardening truly means we need to know the meaning of the word organic. Organic means the usage of natural supplements to grow the crops and bear the fruit out of it instead of using chemicals. In short, it means the usage of nature to make the soil more nutrient rich in which the crops grow and use only those tools that are natures in order to get very good and natural gardens.
A comparison of organic gardening to modern gardening shows that modern gardening requires destruction of plants and animals and the usage of very harmful chemicals out from factories that brings out the growth of plants unnaturally causing damage to the environment.
So the need for organic gardening is evident now. There are two ways in which organic gardening works. When you use chemical pesticides and fertilizers, you are in turn damaging all those things that actually help your garden and it also adds the chemicals in the food that we eat after getting the produce that proves to be hazardous to our health.
The second way is to use natural supplements to destroy all those diseases and insects that harm the crop.
Even though organic gardening sounds like its the best, there are certain drawbacks that have to be looked into. The fruits and vegetables come right from an organic garden are tastier than the ones that are products of chemically fertilized gardens although they do not appear to be artificial.
The crops in the organic gardening would grow slower than those grown with the help of chemicals although chemicals would spoil the soil as time passes by.
